Our Story
A Name That Grew with Indian Agriculture
Durga Seed Farm is a name that has coexisted and grown with the advancement of contemporary practices of seed production and marketing.
As a crucial link between research and farmers, we have managed to spearhead and become a leader in quality seed production and marketing for the benefit of farmers and other stakeholders. With quality and sustainability valued as core missions, we have established ourselves as a choiced vendor for more than 100 varieties of vegetable, fodder and flower seeds.

From One Variety to a Hundred
For over five decades, Durga Seed Farm has grown alongside every advancement in modern seed production and marketing. As a crucial link between research and the farmer, we have spearheaded better practices to become a trusted leader in quality seed production and marketing — for the benefit of farmers and every stakeholder we serve.
That journey has been carried by three generations of one family.
Late Shri Lala Durga Dass Mahajan
Its roots go back to Late Shri Lala Durga Dass Mahajan, a respected seed merchant in Gurdaspur whose focus was producing and selling high-quality vegetable seeds — and whose belief that quality is never negotiable still guides us today.
Shri Subhash Mahajan
In 1969, honouring his father's legacy, Shri Subhash Mahajan started the brand Durga Seeds with a single product — Cauliflower Snowball-16. Under his capable leadership and guidance, that one variety grew into a catalogue of more than 100 varieties of Vegetable, Fodder and Flower seeds. With the relentless commitment of farming veterans and scientists — and detailed checks and multi-location trials at our dedicated Research and Development facilities — we continued our tradition and values of developing better products, assuring proactive quality control and innovation at every step.
Shri Karan Mahajan
Today, his son Shri Karan Mahajan carries that legacy across the world, taking Durga Seeds' trusted quality to farmers across the world, while quality and sustainability remain our core mission.
